Dinner & Duds: Serving St. Pete
About Dinner & Duds
Dinner & Duds (D&D) has been a beacon of hope in St. Pete, FL, since 2016. Founded by Toni, the organization has been consistently providing hot meals every week to those in need. But it's not just about food; D&D also offers clean clothing, toiletries, and more. The mission is clear: to provide hot meals, clean clothing, and toiletries to those in need in Pinellas County. Beyond the essentials, D&D also shares job referrals, bus pass information, shelter details, and healthcare resources.
Our Impact
As of July 19, 2023, D&D has served an estimated 4,121 individuals. The organization's impact resonates in the community, with countless stories of lives touched and changed. From providing essential items to fostering genuine friendships on the streets, D&D has been a pillar of support in St. Pete.
Our Team
The heart and soul of D&D are its dedicated team members. Toni, the founder, has been the driving force since the beginning. Alongside her, Fred, Joyce, and Jessica have been instrumental in the organization's success. Each member brings a unique perspective and set of skills, but they all share a common goal: to make a difference in the lives of St. Pete's homeless community.
Challenges & Needs
While D&D has made significant strides, challenges persist. The need in the community is deep and ever-present. Every week, the team grapples with ensuring they have enough resources to meet the demand. Donations, both monetary and in-kind, are crucial. The organization also faces logistical challenges. For instance, Toni's 1983 Chevy van, which was instrumental in transporting supplies, is no longer operational. She's currently using a sedan, but it's not a sustainable long-term solution.
How You Can Help
Support from the community is the lifeblood of D&D. Donations are always welcome, be it food, clothing, or monetary contributions. Every bit helps in ensuring that the organization can continue its vital work. For those interested in making a difference, you can donate via Cash App ($DINNERANDDUDS) or PayPal.
